Beginnings and Ends: 100 Days at Carson and Saying Goodbye to A Dear Friend

Today is my 100th day at Carson! I can honestly say that I’ve never had more fun in my career and I’m so excited about what the future holds. What we are doing at Carson to help Advisors and their clients find their freedom is unlike anything anyone else is doing in the industry. I’m still the new guy, but to say I made the right decision to join Carson is a total understatement. You never really know how a new job will go, even if it feels right in the beginning. Well, let’s just say I am thrilled to be here, and this was absolutely what I needed.

To be part of a team where everyone believes in the same message and works together to make it happen is simply awesome. From daily blogs to “House View” investment recommendations to managed models, we are adding more choices for our Partners to better serve their clients. Because that’s what ultimately matters. To help people. With all the media, videos, and podcasts, and traveling the country to spread the word, every day is different in some way. Then again, each day is the same, as every day is a blast.

So, if you are an Advisor and you feel lost in the shuffle at your current firm, check out what we are doing, and join the revolution. To learn more about us, don’t hesitate to reach out.

That’s the good news. The bad news is my dog of 15.5 years passed away recently. His name was Thurman and we put him to sleep last week. He was extremely sick.

To lose a dog you’ve had for years is so hard, especially when it is the family dog that your kids grew up with as well. He was very special, as he loved us, but loved my kids more. My kids could do anything to him (and I think they did), but he’d just take it and let them do it to him. He hated lawnmowers and mail delivery but loved his trips to Sonic to eat in the car.

The good news though is we got him right before my daughter was born (and everyone had a Facebook account and cell phone with a camera). So, he likely has photo-bombed more pictures in the past 15 years than any other animal, so we will get to see him a lot!

Here’s his last walk, last trip to Sonic, and the first day we brought him home. We love and miss you, Thurmy!
