Omaha – February 26, 2019 Carson, a leading provider of advisor solutions and wealth management services for investors, today announced its third partnership with a Nebraska-based university and Barron’s in Education to help educate the next generation on the extensive opportunity that exists within the financial services profession.

The University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) is the third top 10 university in Nebraska Carson Group has partnered with to fund an exclusive license that will provide complimentary access to Barron’s content for the College of Business Administration and all associated faculty.

“Building future financial leaders is a critical mission at Carson,” said Joanna Swanson, Vice President of Advisor Development at Carson Group and UNO alumnus. “UNO’s College of Business has a history of strong partnerships with Omaha businesses, and we are excited to be one of those select partners. Collaborating with the College of Business Administration and Barron’s will allow us to work with talented students who see – and can help grow – our industry into a true profession.”

With CBA programs ranked among the best in the world by publications such as “U.S. News and World Report,” “CEO Magazine” and “Military Times,” UNO stands as a leader in local and global business education. CBA has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 1965; the rigorous accreditation is held by fewer than 200 universities worldwide.

Louis Pol, CBA’s John Becker Dean, said, “Carson’s gift highlights how innovative partnerships with community partners creates an applied learning environment that isn’t business school as usual. We are committed to providing students a competitive edge in a highly charged industry, and this partnership is an excellent contribution to CBA’s continued mission of teaching, developing, and producing empowered business leaders in the Omaha community and abroad.”

“Our partnership with Barron’s now includes three of the top 10 universities in Nebraska,” said Aaron Schaben, Executive Vice President of Carson Group. “UNO’s College of Business is one of the most recognized in the country, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the impact this has on thousands of students across the state. It’s a true testament to our commitment to the future of our profession and to the education of next-gen talent.”

The Barron’s in Education program will be weaved into curriculum for College of Business students during the spring semester. Undergraduates will be able to learn about the opportunities available to them through the Barron’s website, which also gives them capability to filter stories based on their interests.
