Newest Carson Partner is California’s Parsons Wealth Management

Posted on August 6, 2019

Omaha, NE – August 6, 2019 – Parsons Wealth Management, a financial planning firm that traces its roots back to the 1960s, today announced their decision to affiliate with Carson Partners and has changed their name from the former Parsons Financial Advisors. Owner John M. Parsons currently leads a team of eight which includes his son and Managing Partner John William Parsons, who began working part-time at the firm while in junior high school and joined the firm full-time in 2006.

Parsons had reached a point where they realized they would need to either run their investment business through their own RIA, become a hybrid or join a team like Carson. Together with their team, they decided to partner with Carson to secure the future growth of their firm, gain access to customized portfolios, increase investment transparency for clients and provide a better overall digital experience thanks to Carson’s customized technology suite for advisors.

Parsons Wealth Management currently manages $180 million in assets and they specialize in working with clients who are approaching or are already in retirement. About half of the families they serve reside close by, in their coastal home of Half Moon Bay in Northern California.

“Our current model was built by and for me. This new model is built for me, my son and our young, vibrant team, and will take us well into the future,” said John M. Parsons. “We plan to keep growing and this partnership will help us do that in a thoughtful way that allows us to continue to bring financial clarity and confidence to clients—existing and new.”

As with other advisory firms that have affiliated with Carson Partners, Parsons Wealth Management will maintain ownership of the business and remain the strategic decision-makers for all organizational decisions and operations. The connection will also prepare Parsons for the future by having a support structure in place for business continuity and succession planning.

“John, John William and the smart, fun team they’ve built are in complete alignment with our foremost core value as an organization—the client’s interest comes first, always,” said Ron Carson, founder and CEO of Carson Group. “By outsourcing some of their behind-the-scenes operations, they’ll be able to spend more time building those enduring client relationships. I cannot wait to see them continue to grow and thrive as a new Carson Partner.”

In addition to being a mainstay in the Barron’s annual list of top wealth management firms, Carson Group remains among the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies, has been recognized for two consecutive years by InvestmentNews as a top-50 firm for Best Places to Work for Financial Advisors, and was recently awarded a Best Places to Work in FinTech by American Banker.
