Omaha, NE – July 11, 2019 Carson, one of the fastest growing financial services firms in the country, recently announced that Saumen Chattopadhyay, CFA®, CPA, FCA, will join the organization as Vice President of Investment Platform. Under this new role, Chattopadhyay will be responsible for executing the vision Carson has for expanding its investment strategy ecosystem and further supporting how those investment strategies can help Carson partner firms better serve their clients.

Chattopadhyay brings more than 20 years of asset management experience to Carson, previously holding senior leadership positions with both private investment firms and the institutional side of the industry. A veteran in asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management, he most recently served as the Chief Investment Officer at Convex Capital Management, where he developed unique wealth management solutions for advisors with risk number algorithms and goals-based asset allocation. Prior to that, Chattopadhyay worked as the Head of Investment Management at Jackson National Asset Management, where he oversaw 87 funds in Jackson’s platform and managed nine fund-of-funds.

“Witnessing Carson’s tremendous growth in recent years told me there was something special here,” said Saumen Chattopadhyay. “I believe my wide spectrum of knowledge and experience within investment management gives me the opportunity to impact our partner firms in a very real way. We’re already brainstorming strategy mapping tools, behavioral assessments and things like artificial intelligence to reduce some of the heavy lifting that often occurs when advisors make this type of transition.”

Chattopadhyay is the most recent key addition for Carson, as the firm continues to build out its support team and resources for advisors seeking more investment options. His involvement will improve portfolio mapping, asset allocation, strategy evaluation, and communicating and educating advisors on how to take their clients through a seamless investment experience.

“Saumen is an incredible addition as we continue building out our investment and research team,” said Aaron Schaben, Executive Vice President of Carson Group. “Between his technical skillset and extensive knowledge base, we are well-positioned to give our partner firms the various options they need to serve clients at every level.”

Chattopadhyay received his MBA in Finance from the University of Toledo and Masters of Commerce from the University of Calcutta in Accounting and Finance.
