About Scott

Scott has been in the financial services industry since 1989. He spent over 20 years working in business development and consulting for a broker/dealer before coming to Carson Group in 2011. “My experience in this industry has shown me the most successful financial advisors love building relationships with clients and they have a passion for helping people address what matters most to them – it might be their family, a retirement they can enjoy instead of worry about or supporting a charity or societal need. That’s a noble pursuit because it makes a difference.”

He has extensive experience in coaching and training advisors in areas including strategic prospecting, time management and communicating value. Blueprinting is critical to Scott, as a coach. “When advisors have clarity about what they want to build – the vision they have for their business and life – and why they want to, it naturally leads to establishing goals that measure progress towards that vision. Then, we can identify daily activity that supports the goals and drives toward the vision. It all works together”.

Leadership is also an area he feels strongly about. “There are plenty of good asset- gatherers in the industry. But to separate yourself from the pack and go to the next level, you have to invest time as the CEO and leader of your organization. Culture has a huge impact on success”.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Nebraska – Kearney. In his personal time, Scott loves being with his family at his kids’ sports events or other activities, watching a movie together, or relaxing on a beautiful beach. He’s a big fan of Husker football, enjoys coaching youth baseball and is also an active member of his Christian community. Scott and his wife, Beth, have three wonderful children – daughter Joree and sons Cameron and Sam.
